The Department of Environment of the City of Alicante has initiated a system for measuring real-time noise pollution in the municipality, which consists of a network of 16 controls distributed throughout the city to collect these data. Each measurement is composed a solar energy power supply, a microphone, a sound meter and a modem for data transmission. These data collected can be viewed via the website of the City Council and will serve both to inform citizens and to inform the technicians to take appropriate corrective action.
